|
|
This weekend we rolled out our new mobile website.
The new site utilized a re-direct scheme which detected the user's device and sent that user to the mobile version of the site.
The mobile site is a slimmed down version of the main site which only allowed unscramble and word lookups and a feed back option.
the mobile website can be found at:
http://m.unscramble.net
We had a number of users that had issues with the new site and re-direct.
The issues were:
1. Automatic redirect was intended only for phones and not tablets. However, due to some problems, many tablets were also redirected.
2. The simple interface did not go over big with many users as we received a number of negative feed backs and zero positive ones.
As a result, we decided to roll back the auto re-direct of the mobile site although it will be an option from the main site shortly.
We will also be looking at the mobile web design to try to improve it before we try another test.
Your comments are welcome related to what you like and don't like about the mobile site and whether re-direction is something you want to have.
Thanks
Walt |

New mobile site has now been in place since May 1 with new redirection routine.
Now only mobile phone devices are automatically redirected to the mobile site with an option to return to the full site with 24 hour persistence. Tablets and desktop browsers still go the the full site. An option is available on the full site to go to the mobile version.
If there are any issues, please use the feedback function to report them.
Thanks
